Video Meetings in the UC App

Video Meetings in the UC App

Overview

The UC application includes built-in video meeting functionality that allows users to start or join video calls with contacts directly from within the app. No separate conferencing tool or third-party service is required. Video permissions will be requested the first time you initiate a video call.

Starting a Video Meeting

A video call can be initiated from a contact’s detail view using the video call icon in the quick action bar at the top right of the screen. Video can also be started from within a chat conversation with a company contact.

In-Meeting Controls

During a video meeting, the following controls are available:

  • Camera toggle: Turn your camera on or off at any point during the meeting.
  • Microphone toggle: Mute or unmute your microphone.
  • Screen share: Share your screen or a specific application window with meeting participants.
  • Participant list: View all participants currently in the meeting.
  • End call: Leave or end the meeting for all participants.

Camera and Video Preferences

Video device settings, including camera selection, background blur, mirror video, and automatic camera activation on joining a meeting, can all be configured in the Video section under User Preferences. If your camera is not detected, use the Rescan Devices button to refresh the device list.
