What Is vBroadcast?
The vBroadcast application is used to place outbound calls, send SMS messages, and deliver appointment reminders to a targeted list of recipients. It is designed as a communication tool for reaching an active customer base, not as a general marketing platform.
Outbound Calling
When a recipient answers an outbound call placed by vBroadcast, the application can take one of the following actions:
- Play a pre-recorded audio file and hang up.
- Play a pre-recorded audio file and then transfer the call to a Call Center Agent or DID.
- Connect the recipient immediately with a Call Center Agent or DID without any pre-recorded audio.
The application works alongside the WebContact Call Center Suite. Connected calls can be transferred to agents within the PBX domain using an inbound trunk. Outbound call volume can also be limited based on agent availability so calls are only placed when someone is ready to take them.
SMS Blasts
vBroadcast can send an SMS message to a large list of recipients at once. An SMS-enabled Toll-Free telephone number must be used as the sender. The inbound portion of that number can be routed to another service, including an SMS Responder, so that incoming replies are handled automatically.
Appointment Reminders
vBroadcast can send appointment reminders via voice call, SMS, or both, to a list of recipients on a scheduled timeline ahead of an appointment date.
