Recommended Power Settings for the UC App

Why Power Settings Matter

When a computer goes to sleep or a browser tab is put to sleep to save energy, the UC application can lose its connection to the back-end services. This means you may miss incoming calls, stop receiving message or voicemail notifications, and find that your call history is no longer updating. Configuring the recommended power settings below prevents this from happening.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Go to Settings, then System and Performance.
  2. Enable Balanced Settings for power management.
  3. Turn off the option to enable efficiency mode when connected to power.
  4. In the section titled Never put these sites to sleep, add the UC application’s web address so the browser never suspends it.

Google Chrome

  1. Go to Settings, then Performance.
  2. In the section titled Never put these sites to sleep, add the UC application’s web address.
  3. Disable the Energy Saver feature.

Microsoft Windows

  1. Go to Windows Settings, then Hardware and Sound, then Power Options, then Edit Plan Settings.
  2. Set the When to put the computer to sleep option to Never.

Mac

  1. In Battery settings, set Low Power Mode to Never.
  2. Click Options within Battery settings.
  3. Enable the option Prevent automatic sleeping on power adapter when the display is off.
  4. Set Wake for network access to Always.
