Enabling Pop-ups and Notifications for the UC App

Enabling Pop-ups and Notifications for the UC App

Why Notifications Matter

The UC application relies on browser notifications to alert you to incoming calls, new messages, and voicemails. If notifications are partially or fully disabled, you may miss calls or messages without realizing it. Making sure notifications are allowed at both the browser and operating system level is an important step in getting a reliable experience.

Allowing Notifications in Your Browser

If you are prompted by the browser to allow notifications when first using the app, click Allow. If you dismissed that prompt or are unsure of your current setting, you can check and update it through your browser’s site settings:

  • Chrome: Click the lock icon in the address bar, find Notifications, and set it to Allow.
  • Edge: Click the lock icon in the address bar, find Notifications, and set it to Allow.
  • Safari: Go to Safari Preferences, then Websites, then Notifications, and allow the site.

Allowing Notifications at the Operating System Level

Even with browser notifications enabled, your operating system may have its own notification settings that override the browser. If you are still not receiving notifications after enabling them in the browser, check your OS settings:

  • Windows: Go to Settings, then System, then Notifications. Make sure notifications are enabled for your browser.
  • Mac: Go to System Settings, then Notifications. Find your browser and the browser helper in the list and make sure Allow Notifications is turned on for both.

Also ensure that pop-ups are allowed by clicking the lock icon in the browser’s address bar and checking the pop-up permission for the UC app site.
