BLF (Busy Lamp Field) in ReachUC

What Is BLF?

BLF stands for Busy Lamp Field. It is a presence indicator that shows you in real time whether a colleague is available, on a call, or unavailable. When BLF is enabled on a contact, their status is reflected visually in your contacts list so you can see at a glance who is free before transferring a call or reaching out.

How to Enable BLF

  1. Open the contact you want to enable BLF for in your contacts list.
  2. Locate the BLF toggle on the contact’s detail screen. If it is currently off, click it to enable it.
  3. Click Save to apply the change.

Once BLF is enabled and saved, that contact’s availability will be visible to others on the system, and their status will appear in your contacts list. A green indicator means the user is available and a red indicator means they are currently on a call.
