Yealink Quick Start Guide

Yealink Quick Start Guide

Making Calls

There are three ways to make a call from a Yealink phone:

  • From the handset: Pick up the handset and dial the number.
  • Via speakerphone: Press the speakerphone button and dial the number.
  • Via headset: Press the headset button and dial the number.

For extension-to-extension calls, simply dial the extension number or press the corresponding Line Key button if the extension is assigned to one.

Transferring Calls

There are three ways to transfer a call:

Blind Transfer

A blind transfer sends the call directly to the recipient without speaking to them first. While on a call, press the Line Key button showing the desired extension to transfer immediately.

Attended Transfer

An attended transfer lets you speak to the recipient before completing the transfer, while the original caller is placed on hold. While on a call, press Transfer, dial the extension, press Send, speak with the recipient, and then press Transfer to complete.

Transfer Directly to Voicemail

To send a caller directly to another user’s voicemail without ringing their phone, press Transfer while on the call, press 7, and then press the Line Key button for the desired extension.

Three-Way Conference

While on an active call, press Conference. This places the current call on hold. Dial the number or extension you want to add, press Send, speak with them briefly if needed, and then press Conference to bring all three parties together.

Putting Calls on Hold

There are two ways to hold a call:

  • Standard hold: Press the Hold button on the phone. Press Resume to return to the call.
  • Call parking: Your phone system has call parking assigned to Line Key buttons labeled Park 1, Hold 1, or similar. While on a call, press the assigned parking key to place the call on park. Any phone on the system can pick up the parked call by pressing the same button.

Accessing Voicemail

  • Dial 5001 or press the Mail button on the phone to access your own voicemail.
  • Dial 5000 to access another user’s voicemail. You will be prompted to enter that user’s extension and password.

Intercom

The intercom feature works on a per-extension basis. To initiate an intercom call to an extension, dial *50 followed by the extension number. For example, to intercom extension 101, dial *50101.

Page All

The Page All feature allows you to broadcast a message to all phones simultaneously. This feature requires activation. Contact support to have it enabled for your system.
